You see...I have a vision....
To create a Movement that encourages Christian artists to make art
that glorifies the Lord, but proves that Christian art can be
sophisticated, smart, and collectible by the art community in
general and not relegated to just Christian gift shops. I want a
place where Spirit-filled artists are taught the "back-story" to
making their art...that they don't have to have to paint the image
of Christ to make Christ-inspired work. If in the making of their
work, and the interacting with the public in selling their work
they evoke the Gifts of the Spirit...love, joy, peace, kindness
etc. this is Spirit-filled work. If there is a sense of gratitude
for the moments when we can create the work of our hands...this is
Spirit-filled work. If it encourages and edifies with its message
and beauty...this is Spirit-filled work. And we can step into Art
and beyond it into a place where Artists play a part in keeping
hope and joy alive in a world that has less and less of it.
And you do not have to be a professional artist to attend
and enjoy these four days. This can simply be an opportunity to
make some cool art and spend the days with amazing women and
inspirational moments.

In this fun, half day class we will create a personal "Blessings Box" using an old drawer or an old window (included in the materials fee) that will become the focal point of a prayer corner or devotional space in your home or studio.
Most materials included. $40 materials fee.

Redemption...Taking it into the world with a new message.
Afternoon Session...
Imagine..."Today's Scrolls" (Or would I like to call "The
Dead Me Scrolls) :-) An art workshop to create a collage piece made
entirely of paper mounted to canvas. On it we will make a series of
artsy scrolls where we will write our thoughts, prayers, blessings
etc and seal them in wax. These words will hang on the walls of our
studio becoming part of our day. There will be space on the piece
to add to it as dreams evolve.
All materials included for the $25 materials fee.
And in Closing...
Imagine... Giving Back to Artists in Need "My Sister's
Keeper." Introduction to a program we are developing where artists
who have an abundance help struggling artists with
supplies,encouragement, or practical advice etc. We will each make
a small mixed media book with words of encouragement written in it.
These books will become part of the art packages that we send out
to artists in need.

"The Women-The Flag" is probably the only piece I make that more or less has a formula to it's concept and construction, instead of a creative free-for-all. :-) With detailed and easy to read written instructions and photos of the process...this project is a perfect candidate for a kit with a short how-to-booklet. There's more to making pieces that are based on my fabric collage style than meets the eye. Many workshop go-ers have said they would love to make another one or two, but didn't want to spend the bucks collecting all the supplies in yardage or full sheets of the handmade papers, or go thru the hassle of coffee-staining. I hear ya! Took me a year....but I hear ya! :-) I have sold fabric and doo-dad "bits" from my studio before, but never the actual complete kit to make a piece.
